BioCity Global is a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening health, education, and WASH services in underserved communities. Our work centres on practical, long-term solutions that help people access the care and opportunities they deserve. We partner with governments, academic institutions, diagnostic partners, and global health institutions to build systems that last.

Our ambition is to become the AMR Legacy Centre for Africa, We are positioning ourselves to support countries in improving antimicrobial resistance surveillance, laboratory capacity, and data quality. Our team brings technical expertise, hands-on field experience, and a strong commitment to advancing One Health principles across the continent.

A world where every individual has access to quality healthcare, inclusive education, safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services, and embraces One Health principles integrating human, animal, and environmental health.

Mission

Our ambition as the AMR Legacy Centre for Fleming in Africa is to serve as a proud catalyst for advancing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance and strengthening laboratory capacity across the continent. We build on partnerships with regional networks, provide specialised technical expertise, and foster collaboration between African nations and global stakeholders to drive sustainable solutions and shared progress.

As Biocity Global, we aim to:

Strengthen Laboratory Equipment Maintenance

Provide expert management of maintenance contracts in collaboration with leading global partners such as BD, BM, IPA, Applied Biosystems, Thermo Fisher, and Biocity Global network to ensure reliable and efficient laboratory operations.

Optimize Procurement of Reagents and Supplies

Deliver technical input and coordination for pooled procurement and single-purchase strategies, leveraging Biocity Global’s network of technical expertise in supply chain solutions to enhance cost efficiency and timely availability.

Build Local Capacity

Implement targeted training and refresher programs for technical personnel, supported by Biocity Global’s training resources, to maintain operational excellence and sustainability.

Leverage Regional Expertise

Act as an LMIC regional hub with a pool of skilled Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in AMR surveillance, complemented by Biocity Global’s global network for localized technical support.

Last-Mile Delivery Management

Use digital systems, including Biocity Global’s logistics innovations, to guarantee timely distribution of reagents, supplies, and equipment.

Technical Asset Management

Deploy advanced digital platforms to track receipt, inventory, maintenance, and deployment of donated equipment, maximizing utilization and sustainability.

Act as a Central Coordination Point

Bridge governments, AMR partners, and Biocity Global to foster collaboration and alignment for stronger health systems.
